BALL ANNOUNCES PUBLIC FORUM ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
Expert Panel Invited to Discuss Arizona Law

Assemblyman Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) has assembled an expert panel to discuss a recent Arizona law on illegal immigration, signed by Governor Jan Brewer on April 21st. The panel, which will include Homeland Security expert Mike Cutler as well as Ed Kowalski of 9/11 Families for a Secure America, will also present recommendations for addressing illegal immigration in New York.

“The black market economy of illegal hiring and housing casts a shadow on our communities and our economy,” Ball said. “Illegal aliens are forced into indentured servitude as the taxpayers are left to flip the bill for healthcare, education and incarceration. Our national immigration policy is broken and patently unfair, forcing communities to take action at the local level.”

Jim Coleman, Chief of Staff for Greg Ball, said that illegal immigration is a very personal issue to him as the great-grandson of a Kentucky slave.

“Some employers are worried that if they cannot hire illegals, their businesses would collapse,” Coleman said. “That’s what some cotton farmers said in the 1800s when they were asked to give my great grandfather his rights. The big question of the day was, if we give James Coleman his freedom, whose going to pick the cotton? That caused a civil war. It’s not a joke and President Obama should be on this issue. Illegal immigration goes against all of the values America stands for in protecting human rights. We’re not going to tolerate that in America. Not in 2010.”

Attendees at the public forum will receive a copy of the Arizona illegal immigration law, as well as the federal illegal immigration law, so they may make an informed decision.

BALL ANNOUNCES PEOPLE’S CONVENTION ON JULY 24
Ball: I’m taking this fight to the people!

Assemblyman Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) has announced the grassroots formation of a People’s Convention and Tea Party to be held on July 24th because, as communicated by Ball in an email to New York State Republican Chairman Ed Cox, the planned Republican Convention to nominate an insider candidate for the 40th State Senate District is nothing more than an illegal, illegitimate publicity stunt. The People’s Convention will be held in the heart of the 40th State Senate district and is open to all taxpayers, voters and patriots.

“I’ve never been the candidate of the good ol’ boys and I’m proud to be the Albany outsider in this race,” Ball said. “The same hand of Albany’s Republican Leadership that handpicked Pedro Espada is now picking their puppet in our backyard. Albany needs independent leaders, not puppets. My grassroots outsider message of limited government and supporting constitutional freedoms has enormous support in this district. I didn’t go to Albany to make friends, I went to Albany to make a difference. What the elitists in Albany’s ivory tower don’t get is that voters of all persuasions are ready to take their state back, away from the same corrupting special interests that I fight everyday.”

Jim Coleman, Official Spokesperson for Greg Ball’s Senate Campaign, delivered a Cease and Desist letter at the Republican Convention to Westchester County GOP Chairman Doug Colety, Putnam County GOP Chairman Anthony Scannapieco, and Dutchess County GOP Chairman Michael McCormack, which Coleman said was illegal and illegitimate because it excluded Dutchess County.

“The various political conventions and endorsements will be held four months before the Republican Primary, an instrument of disenfranchisement by the insiders. These bosses roll around fat and happy collecting proxies like it’s Tammany Hall. These insider conventions, stuffed with good old boys and insiders on government payroll, allow corrupting influences to execute backroom deals while bartering for personal gain. Greg wants individual support from true patriots within the Republican machine, but there is zero reason for Greg as an independent and conservative reformer to kow-tow to Republican leaders, or the bosses of any party,” Coleman said.

In his email to Cox, Ball revealed that he had not been invited to the Republican Convention to nominate a candidate for the 40th Senate District, and that he learned about it third hand. Ball said he will instead seek the nomination of the People’s Convention.

“We will host the People’s Convention on July 24th to listen to the people, and to address our concerns of immigration, lower taxes, corruption and government spending,” Ball said. “I will be proud of this historic moment and movement as it will represent the will of the people.”

The People’s Convention will feature many great speakers and every political candidate and public official who speaks will be required to sign a Tax Free Pledge. Terrorist killer, American Patriot and Successful Author, U.S. Senate candidate Gary Bernsten, will serve as the Convention’s Key-note speaker.

“I look forward to being in Patterson to witness the people’s nomination of my good friend, Greg Ball, to be the choice of the people,” Bernsten said. “Greg’s a military guy just like I am. He served his country, and he will serve our country and our state again, proudly.”

“Our hope is to take the passion that is out there, the passion you see at Tea Parties nationally and at Town Halls locally, and turn that into real political action,” Ball said.
An open “Shout Out” Forum will be held with guest speakers as well as regular voters and taxpayers. Voters from throughout the State Senate district and beyond will be allowed to nominate a candidate of their choosing.

“New Yorkers are over-taxed, frustrated, and they are voting the only way they know how: with their feet,” Coleman said. “Greg Ball is doing what no one else cares to do, to give the people their voice and give people input into the nomination process. For four years, the people were overwhelmingly behind Greg Ball, and Greg Ball and his legions of supporters of all parties were ignored by political insiders. Now, Greg Ball will give the people power in the nomination process with this rally and convention.”

Coleman also announced that he will present the “Voice of the People Award” for the best shout-out. Coleman will once again walk amongst the people to find out what they are angry about, and what they want to do about it.

For two consecutive election cycles, in 2006 and in 2008, the Republican Convention failed to nominate Ball for Assembly. In 2006, Greg Ball beat the incumbent in the Primary with 70.4% of the vote. In 2008, Ball defended his seat by receiving 73.1% of the vote.

“Albany has a wakeup call coming in November, because we are not going to let a bunch of Albany insiders, who couldn’t find honest employment elsewhere even if their uncle owned the company, decide our fate. New York taxpayers simply cannot afford the status quo and we are not going to let these corrupt meddlers and puppeteers in Albany mess up our future anymore than they already have,” Ball said.

An independent poll in 2010 demonstrated that Ball is once again poised for a landslide victory against the Leader’s anointed candidate. He leads by 40 points. Yet Greg Ball says he will continue to run like he is 40 points behind, not ahead, and he is relying upon one-on-one voter contact and a growing grassroots infrastructure.
