Bazzo Says:”Dole-ing” Out Bad Advice

Bazzo Says:

TITLE: “Dole-ing” Out Bad Advice

“I think they ought to put a sign on the national committee doors that says, “Closed for repairs” until New Year’s Day next year, and spend that time going over ideas and positive agendas…. Reagan couldn’t have made it. Certainly Nixon couldn’t have made it, ’cause he had ideas,”

Former Senate Majority Leader and 1996 Republican Presidential Candidate Bob Dole on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace 05/26/13 answering the question, “What do you think of your party, of the Republicans today, Senator Dole?”

Talk about out of touch with today’s Republican voters, here is the type of Republican Party Dole wishes to return to. A so-called non-ideological responsible Republican Party whose political priority was to sit down with the other Party to achieve consensus. Principals and policies were less important than bi-partisan agreement. This is also the type of establishment Republican leadership we now have under House Speaker John Beohner and Senate Minority Leader McConnell.

This is the type of Republican Party the media would love to see. Drop your principals if you have any, agree with the Democrats and that is called bi-partisanship. This is also the type of Republican Party that was the minority party for over 40 years.

It must be remembered that it was Dole who lost as Republican Vice-Presidential candidate when Gerald Ford lead the ticket in 1976. Who also lost to Bill Clinton in 1996. Nation wide this kind of Republican was rejected. What kind of Republican was elected? Reagan, Nixon, Bush 41 (who promised to continue the Reagan revolution) and Bush 43. Why? Because they did have ideas. They stood for something. Republican voters embraced those who stood for something, rejected those who stood for what they believed you would fall for.

I had an epiphany on Monday 5/27/13 on why the establishment parties (both Democrat and Republican) act as if the voters are stupid, talk down to them and treat them with contempt. Why both establishment parties try to expand the scope of government. It is because they think if you are stupid enough to keep electing them even those polls continue to show you do not agree with there direction the country is going and the policies they are enacting (Obama Care) and trying to enact (the gang of 8 immigration bill) , you are too stupid to live without them. (In other words, you earned their contempt.

Today’s Republican voters want confrontation, not consensus. The establishment damn well knows it too! That is why they run as Conservatives. Yet once they get back to Washington, they govern as the ruling class.

Once they get to Washington, they rule against the people. Look at this stalled immigration bill. It is stalled because the Senate can not get the needed 60 votes. Even though the Democrats control the Senate. It is not just the Republicans in very red states that stand in the way, it is Democrats from red states that face re-election next year that stand in the way. You are seeing bi-partisan fear of the voters. However, behind closed doors, the gang of 8 are trying to cut the same kind of deals that were done to get Obama Care. They was this bill and spit on you that you do not!

Dole was wrong. He was and would still be rejected by the voters nation wide. You don’t believe me. Just look and see if you can find President McCain or President Romney. Nixon and Reagan would have accepted even now. The present day Republican voter wants not a linguini-spined President but a President
who has ideas and is willing to stand up for them. This is what I say, what say you?
