S.O.S. – Galef, Carlucci Intensify Push for Boating Safety Legislation

Recent Accidents Highlight Increasing Need for Stricter Regulations on the Water

What-

In light of the frequent boating accidents that have taken place in Long Island, Westchester, and elsewhere in the state, Assemblywoman Sandy Galef and Senator David Carlucci will host a joint press conference on Monday, May 20th to advocate for their boating safety legislation. The goal is to prevent future accidents in our waterways and create better-educated boaters.

The legislation will require boaters of mechanically propelled vessels to obtain boating safety certificates through a phased in approach beginning with new boaters 18 years of age, gradually expanding to encompass everyone.
