KATZ SHARES HURRICANE RELIEF INFORMATION
Assemblyman Steve Katz (R,C,I-Yorktown) would like constituents of the 94th Assembly District to be aware of new assistance that is available to help residents and businesses recover from Hurricane Irene, Tropical Storm Lee and Superstorm Sandy.
“The relief efforts following Irene, Lee and Sandy are all picking up right now with the state having received roughly $1.7 billion in aid from the federal government,” Katz said. “It is important for anyone affected by these storms to step forward and collect the money they may be eligible for before funds run out. The money is for both individuals and businesses and can really help those affected get back on their feet. I hope those needing help will seek it.”
The New York State Recovery Resources Center can be reached online at http://www.nysandyhelp.ny.gov/. The center can also be reached at 1-855-NYS-SANDY (697-72639). The hotline is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
