TITLE: So What Did Happen Last Week?

WHO’S CHILD IS IT ANYWAY?:

The following was said last week by MSNBC-Melissa Harris-Perry:

“We have never invested as much in public education as we should have because we’ve always had a private notion of children, your kid is yours and totally your responsibility. We haven’t had a very collective notion of these are our children.

So part of it is we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families and recognize that kids belong to whole communities.

Once it’s everybody’s responsibility and not just the household’s we start making better investments.”

This is the liberal continued assault on the nuclear family. This is following the recent debate on the re-defining of the word “marriage” You could also include President Obama’s recent budget proposal of increasing cigarette taxes to $1.95 a pack to fund sending your children to school starting at four years old. They must break up the family unit. They must take your child as early as possible to begin indoctrination. Instill government values, not yours. First it was “you didn’t build that”, now it is “your child is not yours”. The really scary thing is that more people than you know have no trouble with this kind of thinking.

WHO’S CITY IS IT ANYWAY?:

It was New York City Council Speaker and Mayoral candidate Christine Quinn who last week had her campaign attorney’s send a letter to Time ,- Warner Cable demanding they stop running an ad by an independent group of citizens critical of her, reminding them that they could lose their franchise licence, which so happens to be granted by the same Council she is the Speaker of. This was after she threatened Cablevision with all the power she has because they fired 23 union workers. Lets not forget New York City Council Speaker Quinn went so far as to say New York University (NYU), landlord of the only Chick-fil-A franchise in New York City, should evict its tenant. She said they were not welcome in “her” city” because the CEO of the company believes that marriage is between a man and a woman.
This is the same Speaker who if polls are correct could be the next Mayor of New York City. Remember, if it were not for her behind the scenes maneuvering, Mayor Bloomberg would only be a two term mayor. It was she who led the council to override a twice voted on referendum limiting the mayor to two terms. Now if one is critical of her, has different beliefs than her, or has business hiring or firing practices she differ’s with, heaven help you. As much as a nanny the present Mayor has been, I pity the people of New York City. The next Mayor will either rule a King or Queen.

IT IS ONLY ILLEGAL IF A REPUBLICAN DOES IT:

Also last week,Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s reelection campaign asked the FBI and the U.S. attorney’s office on Tuesday to investigate how Mother Jones magazine obtained a recording of a February strategy session. This was a strategy meeting of McConnell staffers talking about opposition research they could use against the actress Ashley Judd who was thinking of running against McConnell in the 2014 Senate race. She has since declined to run. However if you followed this via media, you would think that McConnel,s people were doing something dastardly. The media, led by the New York Times jumped all over McConnell for the things that were said about Ashley Judd.
People taped a private conversation between Mitch McConnell and his staff in their office. That is illegal. You would not know it if you only followed this in the New York Times. I have lived long enough to know I was right in voting for Nixon. Watergate was a which hunt. The double standard is clearly now in play.
This illegal act is being lauded by the media. The fact is the McConnell people didn’t smear anybody. The McConnell people didn’t go public with any of this. They were only talking about what she has publicly written and said, and how they would use it during a possible campaign. That’s politics, a contact sport. Man or woman, if you said it, they can use it. What should trouble you is that the media is not troubled by the illegal taping.
I thought you should know what happened last week while the media diverted your attention to the debate in the Senate on how best to trash the second amendment. By the way, the President also released his budget proposal two months late. It raises taxes on the rich. It also raises taxes on the poor and senior citizens. It increases there debt another 5.8 trillion dollars over the present 16 trillion dollars. It doesn’t try to balance the budget. Last week it was the President who was the only liberal not to mask his true intentions. This is what I say, what say you?
