Assemblywoman Galef Continues Holding Town Meetings Throughout 95th New York State Assembly District

Galef Invites Constituents to Learn About State Initiatives and Share Ideas

(February 5, 2013) New York State Assemblywoman Sandy Galef will continue hosting a series of town meetings in communities throughout her assembly district. This is an opportunity for Galef to share legislative proposals and proposed state budget information with her constituents as well as hear feedback from her communities on state and local issues.

On Thursday, February 7th at 7 pm, she will host a meeting at The Field Library in Peekskill. Saturday, February 9th she will be at the Kent Public Library starting at 1pm, and at Croton Village Hall on Sunday, February 10th at 2pm. Constituents are invited to attend as many of these meetings as they would like to hear views from others in different parts of the Assembly District, and engage in civil dialogue.

“I encourage everyone to attend my annual town meetings. It is a great opportunity for me to stay in touch with my constituents about what is going on in our state, as well as to solicit feedback and hear their thoughts. There is sure to be a lively discussion on some of the legislation we have already passed as well as other bills that are being considered. I appreciate hearing from the people in my communities with their ideas to make New York even better,” Galef said.

Galef plans to cover such topics as the governor’s proposed budget, mandate relief measures, how the tax cap is working, hydrofracking for natural gas, casino gambling, boating safety, independent redistricting, and campaign finance reform, among others.

If a town meeting is cancelled in one municipality due to weather, community members are encouraged to attend another town meeting on a different date, as no snow make-up dates have been planned. If the weather is inclement, please call Galef’s district office at (914) 941-1111 or the locale for an update on whether or not the meeting will proceed as scheduled.
