YORKTOWN GOP BEGINS
2013 CANDIDATE SEARCH
YORKTOWN, NY – Election season is just around the corner and the Yorktown Republican Town Committee today announced it was beginning its process for interviewing candidates for the November 2013 elections.
In an effort to continue to grow the Republican Party, the Yorktown GOP is seeking interested candidates for the offices of County Legislator, Town Council and Highway Superintendent, Yorktown Republican Chairwoman Serafina Mastro said. Prospective candidates may apply by sending a copy of their resume and a cover letter to the committee.
“Under the leadership of the current administration, Yorktown has reduced the size and cost of government, paved the way to open dozens of new businesses, while improving the quality of life for all of our residents,” Mastro said. “With this year’s elections quickly approaching the Yorktown Republican Committee is seeking candidates who will continue to work with the administration to further their success.”
In the past four years, the Yorktown GOP has conducted an open and public interview process to attract what they say are the most qualified and diverse candidates for local office.
“Within the past four years Yorktown residents have clearly voiced their desire for a more affordable and effective government which is exactly what the current administration led by Supervisor Michael Grace has accomplished,” Mastro said. “We welcome any interested candidate with the same beliefs of smaller and more affordable government to submit their resumes for consideration by the committee. This is a great way to experience the democratic process as well as serve your neighbors and community.”
The deadline to apply is February 21st. The interviews will be conducted in March and will be followed by a vote of the Committee to officially endorse its candidates.
All interested candidates are being asked to email a cover letter and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail to PO Box 1244, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598. Any questions can be directed to Mastro at (914) 497-7460.
