U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer today released the following statement regarding final passage of the Sandy aid bill:

“Ninety-one days ago, Superstorm Sandy struck a body blow against New York State and today, finally, we’ve struck back. At long last, relief is now coming to our homeowners who need to rebuild, small businesses who are trying to reopen, and communities that have laid out billions of dollars for repairs after the storm. We now must remain vigilant to make sure these dollars move to the people who need it most, because at this point, aid delayed is aid denied. This was a bipartisan effort and showed that when a region of our country faces a natural or manmade disaster, America still comes together and helps those in need. ”
