1. Ethics Board: Financial Disclosure Statements
As presented by members of the Ethics Board, the issue before the Town Board is what to do about the 16 people who have not submitted the Financial Disclosure Form they were required to submit in May. After some discussion, the Board agreed to send the 16 people a reminder letter. If they don’t comply by January 15, the Town Board will have to decide if it wants to enforce the law by instituting some form of “punishment,” or ignore or repeal the law.
Supervisor Grace took exception to several provisions of the revised Ethics Law that was passed in 2010.
2. Creative Living (Navajo Fields)
The applicant presented plans to erect a 330’ x 210’ inflated dome over one of the existing grass fields that would be 86’ feet high, or 8.5 stories tall and which would be taken down in the spring.
3. Outside auditor services
The Town received four proposals in response to its RFP for outside auditing services ranging in price from about $25,000 to $55,000 per year. Three of the four companies, but not the company that has done the audits for the past three years, will be invited in for interviews.
4. Garbage contract
The attorney for Competition Carting assured the Town Board that the company was ready to begin picking up garbage as of January 1. The Board also discussed, but took no action, on the need for a provisional plan in the event there are problems with the new company.
