1. Preservation of Knapp House, Old Crompond Road
J.F. deLaperouse explained the need to establish what he called a “record” of what was behind the structure’s plaster walls in order to document exactly what was of historic value and worth preserving in the house. The Board advised him to contact the developer to see what could be worked out and also to get cost estimates on what the partial demolition work would cost.

2. Tree debris removal
The Board met with representatives of the logging it anticipates hiring to assist in the removal of large trees downed by Hurricane Sandy.

3. Legal Settlement
The Board authorized the Supervisor to sign a legal settlement in the Nick DiTomaso lawsuit.

4. Hurricane Sandy/Emergency Command Center
Highway Superintendent DiBartolo said he anticipates that the Town will receive a “substantial” amount of money from FEMA as reimbursement for Sandy expenses. Citing problems using the town hall board room as an Emergency Command Center, Supervisor Grace said that the Town needed a separate location for the EOC in the basement of the court.

5. Personnel
In a 3-1 vote, with Supervisor Grace voting no and Councilman Patel having left the room, the Board appointed Paul Colarusso as a laborer in the Building Maintenance Department.

6. Continuation of the Board’s review of the Supervisor’s Tentative Budget
Deputy Comptroller Caporale said that the Supervisor’s budget numbers have been revised to reflect a 4.75% tax rate increase for the General, Highway and Library Funds (ADL funds). The Board will resume discussions of the Supervisor’s budget, including the revised figures, on Tuesday, November 20, at 5pm prior to its regular 7:30 meeting.
